Civil War comes to the Massillon Museum
The Civil War affected the lives of every American, whether they answered the call to fight, or stayed behind as civilians on the home front. The Massillon Museum’s summer exhibit, 1861-1865 depicts the lives of local Union soldiers as well as those who kept the home fires burning during the Civil War.

Visit the first Ladies Library in Canton
The National First Ladies’ Library in Canton, Ohio is an excellent source for information about the wives of U.S. Presidents. In addition it operates the First Ladies National Historic Site in the beautifully restored home of Ida Saxton McKinley.

Programs provide summer lunches
NELSONVILLE — Summer for youth means a break from classrooms and examinations. For some, it also means an absence of nutritious lunches. However, two separate summer lunch programs will help to fill this void for hungry area youth through four public libraries and through a new cooperative effort of Nelsonville Family Information Center and the Nelsonville Ministerial Association.

Library grew from modest beginnings
BUCYRUS -- None of us were around when the Bucyrus Public Library opened the doors of its new Carnegie building to the public for the first time June 5, 1906. But if we were to turn the clock back we would find the library, while going through many changes, is still the same after 100 years.

Wagnalls reading program begins Monday
Registration for Wagnalls Memorial Library children's summer reading program opens Monday for children ages 4-12.

It rained cats and dogs Sunday for inaugural Sunbury Pet Parade
At 4 p.m., while vendors were setting up Sunday’s Community Library Pet Parade in Sunbury, it was raining cats and dogs. But by the start of the parade at 4:30, the sun was shining on the approximately 400 parade participants, spectators and vendors that gathered for the event.

Rossford's library to fete fixup
Ann Strahoska said she was pleased to see that the newly renovated Rossford Public Library finally has the space it's needed for years.
